چکیده

Abstract-The elastoplastic constitutive analysis which utilizes the model of multiplicative decomposition of the defo~ation gradient into its elastic and plastic parts has been mainly developed and applied to elastically isotropic materials, which remain isotropic during the process of plastic deformation. This paper extends the application of the model to materials that change their elastic properties during the deformation process as a result of the material degradation and the corresponding damage. The exact kinematic and kinetic analysis of the finite deformations leads to an additive decomposition of the total strain rate into its elastic, damage and plastic constituents. The general structure of the expression for the damage strain rate is derived, valid for utilized damage tensors of any order. The analysis of elastoplastic deformation of elastically anisotropic materials without damage is also presented, with the application to transversely isotropic materials. The relationships between the elastic and plastic strain rates and the components of the multiplicative decomposition and their rates are also given.

A TWO-STAGE DAMAGE DETECTION METHOD FOR LARGE-SCALE STRUCTURES BY KINETIC AND MODAL STRAIN ENERGIES USING HEURISTIC PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION

In this study, an approach for damage detection of large-scale structures is developed by employing kinetic and modal strain energies and also Heuristic Particle Swarm Optimization (HPSO) algorithm. Kinetic strain energy is employed to determine the location of structural damages. After determining the suspected damage locations, the severity of damages is obtained based on variations of modal ...

OVERVIEW OF INTEGRATION METHODS FOR ELASTOPLASTICITY Constitutive relations for elastoplasticity are generally expressed in incremental form, as described in an earlier chapter. The relation between incremental stress and incremental strain may be expressed in a general incremental form that incorporates the properties of elasticity, strain additivity, and plastic flow rule. For strain-controll...

Damage detection of structures using modal strain energy with Guyan reduction method

The subject of structural health monitoring and damage identification of structures at the earliest possible stage has been a noteworthy topic for researchers in the last years. Modal strain energy (MSE) based index is one of the efficient methods which are commonly used for detecting damage in structures. It is also more effective and economical to employ some methods for reducing the degrees ...

A Quasi-Static Boundary Value Problem in Multi-Surface Elastoplasticity: Part 1 – Analysis

The quasi-static evolution of an elastoplastic body with a multi-surface constitutive law of linear kinematic hardening type allows the modeling of curved stress-strain relations. It generalizes classical small-strain elastoplasticity from one to various plastic phases. This paper presents the mathematical models and proves existence and uniqueness of the solution of the corresponding initial-b...

Globally Stable Quasistatic Evolution for a Coupled Elastoplastic–damage Model

We show the existence of globally stable quasistatic evolutions for a rateindependent material model with elastoplasticity and incomplete damage, in small strain assumptions. The main feature of our model is that the scalar internal variable which describes the damage affects both the elastic tensor and the plastic yield surface. It is also possible to require that the history of plastic strain...
